In the Artista Giardiniere course I'm working on the importance of the stone as material to build the space, and a landscape in a garden. This is the most noble material. In the last tutorial (22th of november 2008) I tried to transfer this kind of feeling and I asked my students to represent the projects with a model using fragments, scraps, splinters of stones, gravel, plasticine and using their imagination. At the moment in the University of Politecnico in Milan (Italy), Undergraduate Courses - Bachelor of Science - Built Environment Architecture I'm Professor Architect Claudio Zappone's assistant. I'm working on the Landscape architecture systems in connection to the Environment Architecture. Theme of the course is the self sufficient house inside a wood. The wood is the natural reserve of the Bosco Solivo (close to the Maggiore Lake). Through the job of the students we are searching a way to create a good dialogue between wood (landscape) and the self sufficient house (architecture). The place is very beautiful (in this case I can use this word...): a wood of Castanea sativa, Pinus sylvestre and Betula alba. It's on a little hill up to the village of Borgoticino in the Province of Novara (Piemonte region, north west of Italy). |
